It is attributed to GW Bush, by several people who attended a meeting at the White House where he allegedly made it.

He has not made that quote directly in public.

This story has made the rounds of the Internet. In depth searchs on the Internet for this story reveals something amiss. All sources of the story or rumor point back to the very same source, a writer by the name of Doug Thompson who is fond of unsourced pandering.

Thompson is frequently an unreliable source of information, but something like this needs to be investigated and verified or refuted. (Such as his claim, in the very same rant, that Alberto Gonzales said the Constitution was an outdated document. He actually said the Geneva Convention was outdated. Commentators writing about that statement literally put words in Gonzales’ mouth. And that’s yet another story.

I've read that it was Herr Bush.
His actions would bear out that he feels that way.

And yes... the 2nd and 10th Amendments are also sacrosanct.

The Bill of Rights is the only "10 Commandments" I think should be posted on government buildings.

It is an unsubstantiated allegation against President Bush by unnamed sources, as allegedly told to Doug Thompson of Capital Hill Blue.

Hardly the stuff that truth is made of.

Sounds more like a fabrication to advance a personal hatred of Bush.

That would be mr. bush having a moment of honesty. Doesn't happen very often (the honesty) but he did say it.

To all the posters who are aghast at the "undocumented" nature of the quote:

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Oh, he said it, all right.

G.W. Bush said it allegedly, and most likely he did, his actions show this is what he thinks.
