If so what happens next and when. Any opinions on that?
I know I have an idea, but I want to hear what all of you have to say about it.

Said like a "true thinker". I'm with you on that one. It will get worse before it ever gets better I'm sorry to say.

Yes, we need vision, we need to spread the word, there is nothing to gain by all this. There will be no end except the end. That is the word unless we change it.

There is no end to this. Even if there is an end something will take it's place. There is too much deep rooted in religious beliefs for anything to change in the foreseeable future. If all children throughout the whole world were not allowed religious teaching until the age of 16 then I believe the world has a chance, but history proves that nothing changes. If we as a race are doomed then we as a race deserve that. Life is a wondrous thing but mankind ruins everything. Wars never solve anything they just destroy, and that will continue to the end. We need men of vision on all sides but I see nothing on the horizon.

As long as there are humans, there will be conflict.
It is inherent in our nature.

The word "terror" can mean many things.
But sadly, no, there is no end to "terror" or war or conflict.

Someone will always want something that another has (be it wealth or control of the hearts and minds of people).

Radical Islam wants to control what people believe and think.
Radical Capitalism wants to control wealth.

And so it goes...a vicious cycle.
Makes you wanna just sit down and sing:

"Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"

- John Lennon, circa 1971

The simple answer is 'No'. The complex opinion is this:
Not even the beginning of time was there ever someone not trying to change opinions, rebellion, or someone wanting to dominate. To be worshiped, to have complete control.
History is doomed, so necessitates the act of repeating itself. Unless, there is actually complete annihilation. And, that too would still have already been accomplished with the ice age. So, there you have it. I may not have answered you question the way you can understand my view, however I understand perrrrrfectly well. And after all that is all that matters because I am "Psycho Kitten" now. he hehe;~D

Not if the Neocons have their way. A war without forseeable end is exactly what they were looking for. It has so many advantages for them:

* Greater funding to the military (coupled with de-funding of social programs).
* Contracts for military suppliers (who helped them get elected).
* Support for a pre-emptive strike in the Middle East (allowing them to exert power and influence in the oil-rich Middle East).
* Power (given to them by a populace too afraid to say otherwise) to gut the Constitution.

The Neocons' greatest nightmare came when the Cold War ended and people started calling for a "peace dividend". The so-called "War on Terror" is their dream come true.

Man I don't think that it will ever end>When everyone realizes if we don't all come together and get it right our world is going to end as we know it.Next is a nuke war and so on and then the after math of that.We all need to grow up and live together, but I don't think it will happen until something major happens that will open everyones eyes.Love your family and take care of them and yourself, and hope for a brighter tomorrow!Later on.

YES - there's only one way to end the war on terror - and that's to give in to their demands - meaning - not only must we withdraw all of our troops from the middle east but also the entire world must convert to Islam - and adopt the fundamentalist view - are you ready for that ????

I know I am not

It will end when an influential Islam leader finally takes a firm stand and says, ' my brothers, enough is enough. No more bloodshed in the name of our Prophet.' But until then, we keep on fighting the good fight.

The war will end when there is no one left to kill. This country
is on the edge of WW3, when that happens all hell will break loose.
