Are there definate signs, not just "a feeling"?

It is hard to say, really. It's more so how you feel, signs do not give a definate sign that your in love or just love somebody..

I knew my husband was "the one" when I stayed through the things I'd normally leave over. When he's on my last nerve and I'm mentally packing, but I still can't imagine my life without him, I know how much I really love him. Instead of getting angry, now I get hurt when there's a problem. I want to stick around and fix it instead of my old habit of running away.

ask yourself if you still anticipate every call, text, or visit. If so you are probably still in love. If you think of them every waking second , still have that infatuation , you are most likely to still be in love. to love someone though is more after that phase. When things calm down, more relaxed with one another and you know no matter what this person has done you are still gonna love them.

I don't mean to give you a line or anything... but... You'll just know! I mean, everybody experiences love in a different way, so there isn't really a right answer for this question. Love is special in a way that it makes you want to be with that person forever. It is like you don't just lust after them, but you just want to be with them. No matter what you are doing. Trust me.. you will know!

You may wish to read The four loves by C.S. Lewis. He differentiates the feeling of 'being in love' (Eros) and Affection, which is gradually getting familiar with another person and appreciating him for who he is. This kind of love is ordinary. 'no need to talk. no need to make love. no needs at all except perhaps to stir the fire'. A bit of old english there, but you might enjoy reading it.

"In love" is seeing only the good in some one and dreaming of a perfect life together
"loving" is know someone for who they truly are good & bad and accepting them completely
"In love" feeling doesn't stay because you eventually do learn more about the person and their perfect image comes down to earth. People through away perfectly fine relationship to chase a fantasy of perfection, because of hte "in love" feeling.

Do you really care for the person till your heart bleeds? It is not just about feeling butterflies in your stomach or your heart thumping whenever you think of a person... it is whether you care enough till you sweat for him/her.
