It means that the picture has been deleted, or moved from where it exists. In order for a website to display a graphic or image correctly they have to know where to find it on the server. Someone may have changed the image's file name, moved it, or deleted it somehow.

It means the image is not on the server or not in the right folder on the server or your internet download speed is not fast enough to load it, try right clicking on the X and select show picture. If that does not work then likely it is an image you wont be able to see because it either does not exist any longer or it is in the wrong folder on the server of the website you are viewing due to updates or construction of the site.

It means that the image the box referrs to could not be loacted. You may get this when the image is not found,. if you have image downloading disabled or for whatever reason it times out during the transfer .
