Imagine if all company executives were only allowed $100,000 for there pay. Many companies wouldn't go bankrupt, there'd be tons of jobs, and the economy would be a lot more stable instead of always one-sided. People would stop losing there homes. Jobs wouldn't have to be outsourced to cheaper labor. I'm sorry but all these EXECUTIVES are robbing the American public and nobody is doing anything to stop it.

So you're pissed because you don't make millions? Why should they only make $100,000 when people under them are making that? If there was this pay cap of 100k on executives, there wouldn't be any executives in big companies, I know I sure as hell would not work with that kind of pay. They work hard, why wouldn't they get paid more then $100,000?

Get over it, at least you are still able to get your food stamps every month.

First of all, while I don't like the salaries they get, capping it at $100,000 is pretty low. Truck drivers can make over $100,000 in a year, and the amount of stress and 15 hour workdays that CEO positions entail gives them a right to earn a lot. Maybe not $3 million a year, but their jobs are really important and really really stressful. Many, many executives have no time for family, and they sacrifice family time for extra money. But if they didn't do it for the company, who would?

That being said, even if you did cap it, they could still get away with everything. They'd get a company car, have the company pay for expenses, and basically use the company to get tax breaks. I realize by saying this its sounding like I think all execs are taking advantage of the company, which is far from true. There are just as many good execs out there as bad.

Also, out-sourcing is not only about because they *have* to, but because financially it makes sense. This will not change even if the execs are getting paid less. And getting paid less does not create more jobs either. Jobs are based off of necessity, so just by lowering their salary doesn't mean they need someone else for anything, necessarily. Companies don't hire people solely because they can (in most cases).

That would be pretty ridiculous, since in many large companies there are non-management people making that much.

You list a lot of things that would happen if this rule were in effect. What makes you think that they actually would happen?

Are there executives getting paid a lot and doing a bad job? Sure there are. Are there executives earning every cent they are paid? Also yes.

I think you might want to ask Oprah about that.
She made $270 million last year.
I don't hear anyone complaining about that.
