It was not a break up but it was a stupid rebuff:
A friend set me up with this manure kicker from Sierra Blanca, we talked a few times and then he asked me what ethnicity I was. I told him (latina) and then all of a sudden he got really funny and told me that unless my kids accepted him as their father he just "couldn't get involved with me" well then he berates my friend for not telling him that I was an "effing ****" and my friend was all apologetic (to him, mind you) she didn't know he would be so offended.
I was not hurt or surprised, the thing was, why did the guy lie and say it was about my kids not seeing him as their father? I had made it clear I wasn't looking for a "daddy" for them and he turns it into this either or b.s., ick what a nasty guy.

The stupidest reason I ever broke up with someone is because I started liking him too much. I liked him so much I knew it would hurt me so bad if he ever broke up with me, that I just wanted to end it before he did.
I realized to late it was very very stupid.
