3k = (1/2) / 3

(1/2) / 3 simply becomes 1 / (2 * 3), so you get 3k = 1/6.

Divide both sides by 3 and treat this operation the same as above.

k = (1/6) / 3
k = 1/(6*3)
k = 1/18

I don't quite understand if the original question is
3k = 1/2 because you also have another problem like 3k=1/2 /3 <- this would be a different problem.

I'm assuming that you've the first problem though. Since a lot of ppl don't like fractions, here's another possible way.

Notice you've the 1/2 on one side, say you want to get rid of the fraction, so you multiply by the denominator, in this case two. Just as a reminder, when you multiply by 2, you will be multiplying both sides of the equation, so it gives,

6*k = 1

Now for the final step, to solve for k, divide by 6, so then

k = 1/6

PS: a nice way to check if your answer is correct is to plug in your answer into the original equation and compare both sides of the equation.

3k = 1/2
k = (1/2) / 3
k = 1/2 * 1/3
k = 1/6

Answer: k = 1/6

Proof:
3(1/6) = 1/2
3/6 = 1/2
1/2 = 1/2
