A friend told me this

Bush has just made an executive order saying any protesting of any kind against the Iraq war is illegal so we are standing up and fighting for our rights as americans.

Also Bush has said that if we are attacked again he will be put in charge of all 3 branches of government which means he will be exactly like a dictator.

I'm not a bush lover but How can I tell him its not true?

"No because no one else is looking far into it. Alex there is so much stuff that no one knows about. Not everything thats happened is on the news, just whats ALLOWED to be seen"

It's sort of true. The Patriot Act is the real freedom killer.

False. Well, exagerated. There was an executive order recently - presidents issue a lot of executive orders - but the idea that it could be used to quell any kind of protest is mere alarmism.

Do you see protestors being arrested? No.

Even if such an order were issued and acted upon, it'd never hold up in the courts.

It is not true. It is propoganda.

As for telling your friend...there is no way that the Constitution allows such blanket control. It is un-Constitutional, and would be immediately shut down.

There are a few who talk about interpreting recent orders in such a way, but they are the same type of people who think you can find codes in books written a hundred years ago which predict future things, or the new one about "Last Supper" painting where if you superimpose itself backwards upon itself, it reveals... This kind of crap is hilliarious to me.

wisdomforfools...the sky is falling, the ratiation is thick, and the earth is flat. Put your tinfoil helmet back on and go crawl back into your bomb shelter. I GUARANTEE you have not read that. Anyone who believes it can be interpretted that way has NOT read it. I have read it, and compared it to how they claim the interpretation can give GW that power, and laugh at their paranoid far reaching analysis.

delphi...go read it...you are drinking the cool-aid.

crooksandliars.com is his source???? That made me literally laugh out loud. That is the type of site where people also say that the earth is really flat and we did not land on the moon, etc. To them EVERYTHING in politics is crooked...wait...maybe they are right...just kidding. Anyway, tell him to stay away from people with tinfoil hats.

I think it's BS. that link offers no references, and the claim that the mainstream media largely ignored it, come on. That would have been front page news in the N.Y. Times for weeks.

It is true, go to www.whitehouse.gov. There, under security, is the Executive order Bush signed to give himself such power.

If Bush made an executive order prohibiting war protests, this country will be forced to have our own revolution. He can't do it.

Bush want to earn money from the death of people. He sell weapons to the countries he goes into war with.

To control his position, he also designs a series of "attacks" and blames the country he want to attack. In other words - it was Bush that designed the 9/11, the bombing in London, etc.

Fear is a very powerful way of controlling people and get them to support your actions.
