I experience the not hearing part, especially around noise. What happened to you is the best way...then you aren't a part of gossip!

Sometimes not hearing gossip, can be a blessing for sure!!
You never have to worry about forgetting and blurting out someone's secret.
My grandchildren tell me secrets, sometimes I wish I didn't know.

daisymae, I've got no trouble with my ears thankfully, but my eyes are giving me problems at the moment, and my ribs are aching! I've just been on the phone with my niece and we've been reading the answers over the phone, we both have eyes streaming with tears of laughter!! lol !
Hasn't this just been a fun type of day again? and her parents came today with my birthday present, and I showed the text to her mum, she's laughing too! lol x

No. I have excellent hearing. Much better than "average".
What I can NOT do to save my life is to read lips. I CAN NOT figure out what it is that people are trying to say to me when they are only mouthing the words! Very frustrating.
