I am 16 weeks pregnant and so far I think I have been to the doctor 3 times a month (literally) first I thought I was miscarring I went to the ER, turns out it was just some bleeding. I had bleeding again the next month and found out I have placenta previa, the placenta previa caused uteran contractions, so they put my on this medicine that makes my blood pressure drop and my heart race and short of breath. I have been on the meds for like 2 weeks but now I am having the same cramps that caused me to get on the Meds. So I am going to the doctor AGAIN. The last time I was there my doctor said I was starting to become a regular and my friends joke and say I should just camp out there. I am so embarrassed that I have to go to the doctor so much but I am scared if I don't then something could happen to my baby. Am I right to keep going when I think something is wrong or should I stop worrying so much??

First {{{HUGS}}}} Second, those doctors went to school to get paid big bucks to take care of you and your baby! You are NOT bothering them. Better to error on the side of caution rather then loose your baby. Third, talk to your doc about fetal fibronectin (FFN) to test your cervical fluids to see if the hormone is there that would cause you to go into labor. Also talk to him about if you are a candidate for a 17 P injections. Finally the more water you pound the better it is for the contractions. Keep your feet up and rest!!!! Hang in there!!!

You are right to be concerned about your pregnancy. Don't listen to the friends that are teasing you about seeing the doctor so much. Because:

1.) You are SUPPOSED to go to the ER if you are bleeding during your pregnancy. I'm happy to hear everything was OK, but it could have been a serious problem and going to the ER was the right thing to do.

2.) It is GOOD that you went to the doctor when you were cramping and he/she was able to diagnose the placenta previa early. It will need to be closely monitored throughout your pregnancy. So you SHOULD return to the doctor when you have cramping that does not feel normal.

If your friends have never been pregnant or never had a complicated pregnancy, they do not have the capacity to understand what you are going through. If they continue to tease you, let them know that it hurts your feelings that they tease you about having to go to the doctor so much and that you have real and legitimate concerns about your pregnancy. Let them know that their teasing causes you stress that you do not need right now. In the meantime, stay rested and well, and good luck with the pregnancy. :)

Each time you have gone they have found something wrong with you , there is nothing wrong with worrying about the well being of your unborn baby. They should not make fun of you i would go if i thight something was wrong alot of times you can call a nurse and they will tell you if they think that you should go to the doctor or not. Good luck

Don't be embarrassed for doing everything you can to take care of your baby. It's much better to err on the side of caution here.

Hope you can feel better soon.

Keep going. Don't feel embarrassed. Some women have a harder time than others. Nothing to be ashamed about.
