Why villianize the man? Let's face it, nobody else in baseball wants to be honest. MLB has become a sport of rampant cheating and lying. I know its hard to face, but the majority of power hitters have juiced, and some still are. There is no test for HGH, and until there is, we will continue to see these huge men clubbing homeruns. I mean, isnt it obvious folks? Opposite field home runs off the end of the bat? C'mon, I dont know why you would want to defend these cheaters, they are dishonest to us, cheating the game and everything that it stands for. They should all be locked up, but yet, they make millions upon millions of dollars, because for some reason fans started to believe that baseball is only about the individual and the long ball. The game is ruined, and it will never be the same. The longer you all deny what is going on, the harder it will be to face later on. So, dont make canseco out to be the bad guy, he has no reason to lie on anybody.

I am with you when you say that canseco is only out to make a buck. But, why does it matter what his reasoning is? If he can shed some light on all the nonsense, it makes no difference. Besides, if he mentions somebodys name and cant back it up, then he will get sued. With that in mind, he called out alot of current players in his last book, but no one sued for slander...hmmmmm..wonder why?

I agree with you 100%. Rafael Palmiero broke everyone's heart by being found to be a user. He lied to us all in front of congress with Jose Canseco sitting right there in the room. Mark McGwire lied by omission, Barry Bonds either lied or just is so unsavory it doesn't matter what he says, Selig lies and mishandled the entire affair, the Players' Union backs the players like the mafia backs hitmen, and Jose Canseco -- one of the truly dumb-jock types in recent memory -- comes off (so far) as the one and only honest man in the nest of liars. Whatever his motives, his method so far has been to tell the truth. If a person doesn't LIKE him, that's one thing, but if he is dismissed as a bad guy, he's being killed for being the messenger. Right now, he's a hero, or at least ought to be. Thanks to him, PEDs are out in the open.
Now, he's got that other book coming out and he might over-step himself, but he's earned the right to be heard. We can bash him if he's off. If he tells the truth again, he's even more of a hero in my book.

That doesn't seem like much of a question, but rather a blanket sweeping statement. I agree that juicing is cheating, and there are likely lots of players that have/are doing it. However, people like Jose Conseco are what we call "Tattle Tails"
The rules still haven't changed since 3rd grade: No one likes a Tattle Tail. A lot of the claims he's made have no other proof besides his side of the story. We live in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty the last time I checked.
Besides, to say that the game has been ruined is also unfair. Baseball is still an amazing, fun, and entertaining sport. We live in a culture now a days that seems to love to demonize and tear down anyone in the public eye. When was the last time you heard praise for any given celebrity for a whole month straight? However any day of the week you don't have to look far to find a story about how much of a cheater X player is, or how irresponsibly X heiress or X actress is.

The simple truth is that juicing is cheating. But unless you have hard evidence (IE a failed test) then you are just a sheep falling for a media crazy of destroying someones image. Conesco is just trying to take advantage of a Demonizing media culture, betraying the trust of former friends, players, and fans.

I think people should give Barry Bonds a break if Conseco is the only testimony, and he was never officially tested positive. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? The anecdotal evidence is thin. He got bigger? 10 years ago I was 140 pounds, now I'm 230. ( I've been an adult much longer than 10 years ).

I don't have anything against Conseco but I think his credibility is suspect - he was trying to sell books, and scandal sells. "Rampant Roids" is the funniest term.

Try writing a book called, "Fair play, sportsmanship, and gentlemen-like behaivior". It will sell 3 copies (2 of those bought by the author's mother...)

The problem with Canseco is that you don't know truth from fiction and good from bad. Everything he is doing is to promote himself and make money at the expense of every player playing today. We all have three choices involving Canseco, and that is to believe everything he says, believe nothing he says, or try to figure out what is correct and what isn't. I chose to believe nothing he says and leave it at that.

Because Canseco is bringing out the demons one book at a time to make money off of it. Why didn't he do this when he was playing?

Everyone knows that Jose is a shameless self-promoter trying to make money. He was on the Surreal Life for the love of Mike. BUT, he has done more to help MLB in its efforts to cleanup the league forcing them to confront an issue that they have ignored for a long time. I tell you what, I am going to invent a test for HGH and be rich.

Jose Canseco is to old to keep playing and is jealous. He has spent his millions and can't make any more money so he is getting back at MLB.
