it is hard to keep up sometimes..during a rush..But busing a table just means picking up the dishes , glasses, trash, and what not..empty the ash tray( if there is one..) Put the condiments and napkin holders back into place and wipe the table and chairs down ..Once you get the hang of it you'll be able to complete the job in a few minutes.

No it's not "hard" although that depends entirely on your definition of hard. It can be somewhat stressfull at times, if there is a lot to be done, if you are the only one busing tables, or if the people you work with are complete pricks.

But for the most part it's fairly easy and stress-free. Plus you have the opportunity to meet a lot of people and have a good time. It's a great job to have and you can make a decent living (depending on age). Not sure you could pay for rent, electric, water bills etc... just from busing tables.

But to answer your question, no I wouldn't consider busing tables at a restaurant to be a hard job.

It's hard, but easy, if that makes sense. It can be hard work, but it's easy no-brainer work. When a table leaves and the server says "Bus table 109!", you have to grab a lug and go out there and clear the table fast but not break dishes and take the lug(s) back to the dishroom for the dishwasher. Then wipe the tables and chairs down or remake the table if they use linens. Put the napkins and silverware back out, and if it's fancier, they'll train you on where to put the tableware like wine and water glasses. Check under the tables for trash, and use one of those non-electric sweeper vacs to make it look presentable. If there's a caddy for sugars, salt, and pepper, make sure they're full. They'll tell you all the responsibilities. It's mostly presentation. Other customers don't want to eat seeing a dirty table, and the next customer wants a perfect place setting.

You won't get tips from the customers directly, but the servers usually tip out the bussers at the end of the night. It's not a glamorous job, but you can work your way up. And on top of that, you get some excellent upper body strength!

Everything in the restaurant business is hard, but you can say it's not hard also. It all depends on your ambition level and your strength. All that a buss-er does is clean off tables and take the buckets to the kitchen for the dish washer to do. but you can make it as interesting or UN-interesting as you want.

It's not hard but then again it is, and defently when you are making $2.13 an hour. I was tired from running around cleaning up, plus I was a waitress and a csr<-- I answered phones. My job was really hard becuz I was closing waitress, which means I had to clean everything up. It sucked, I wouldn't get home til 12:30pm. then i got blamed for others mistakes by custmors.
