On the Men's side it's easily Federer unless he get's an unlucky draw and has to face Cananas. Nadal is the only other guy who can beat him, but Nadal losses to easily on hard court. The final four should be Federer vs. Djokovic and Nadal vs. Roddick with Roddick and Federer winning. Then Federer crushing Roddick.
On the women's side Serena has to be the favorite, but both Williams are inconsistant. Sharapova loses clutch matches so she won't win either. I have to go with the dark horse Vaidisova. She should've won Wimbledon, because she had match point against Ivanovic and was on a roll. The final four should be Vaidisova vs. Henin and S. Williams vs. Sharapova with S. Williams and Vaidisova in the final. Vaidisova would win, because she's just so close.

Nope on Andy.....I do not think Andy can win this year.
Neither can Sharapova can win on women.
Federer has a good chance on the men side. Followed by
Nadal....Yes I am one of those, who are on the band wagon
of these two players....others with good chances are Baghdatis, Davydenko , Djokovic.
Serena, if fit has a chance, so does Henin or Ivanovic or
even Chakvatadze

i believe that it will be roddick or federer for the mens side, but for the womens side i think it could be serena williams if she is able to bounce back from that injured thumb, i think venus is going to go far but i dont know weather she can win it yet, if the draw splits open again like it did last year then sharapova can win, if jelena learns how to keep her cool when a couple of calls dont go her way then she too has a good chance, i dont know about ivanovic because she won the us open series but got put out of the third round last year by serena. then theres justine oh justine it was sooo sad how she lost in the semis of Wimbledon but i dont think she is going to win the us open. But my pick is for serena williams to come roaring back after her mediocre wimbledon and i expect for her to be starting slow in the first week but to catch her groove and go home with the winners trophie and i think its possible to have someone very close to her going home with the runner up trophie ( FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE RETARDED IM SAYING SERENA COULD FACE VENUS IN THE FINAL)

Ya I think that on the womens side Sharapova or Venus will win. Probably Sharapova.
Hmm... on the mens side I think that Federer will win or at least become a finalist. Andy should do pretty well idk if he will win though.
Im excited to find out=)

Rafael Nadal on the men's and Justine Henin-Hardenne on the women's. Sorry but Andy doesn't have what it takes to make it to the finals. He is to intimidated by Federrer and Nadal. As for Sharapova, she just isn't consistent enough to win it again this year. She has been playing better of late though.

I'd be surprised if Andy won. I think it's going to be Federer or Nadal. But either way, I'm going to be there live to see the semis and finals.

I'm thinkin Fernando Gonzalez is going to have a good US Open because he did so well at the Australian Open this and because that tournament is a hard court and so is the US Open. I also think Roddick will do pretty good also because he won the Legg Mason tournament yesterday so he's got to be feeling pretty good about his chances now. All i hope is that Federer will lose. I don't want him to win.I'm tired of it. Somebody else needs to win.

on the men's side....
Roger...Rafa...the man with slightest chance..A-Rod....
on the women's Side.....
Maria Sharapova( I rate her amongst the very best on hardcourts).....Anna Chakvetadze( look out for her she's really a very big contender)..Williams Sisters....Ana Ivanovic( She looks to prepare herself only for slams...She did not win too many matches on grass....but reached semis of Wimbledon and Ivanovic has still not played a single match on Hardcourts this year...i mean in the US Open Series..)
