So that those things which indicate it is cruel and perverse can be secrets ... so that you won't be aware of how much stuff your religion has fabricated that has no basis in the book whatsoever?

My family is Catholic.... thank God, they don't put a lot of stress on the bible (there's some crazy stuff in there). We just sometime pray, have drunken receptions and wakes without any guilt and every once in awhile confess our sins that can be absolved by a couple of prayers of contrition.... and usually takes no more than 10 minutes! Why would I read the Bible with this set up? That's for suckers.

funny thing about the bible....not even those that believe in it can agree on it..but of course, they KNOW theyre right about it...and that IT is THE book

They skip over the unpalatable bits - which is most of it because it's too "hard" - even if they do read it themselves. Pastor Billy Bob splains it raaght.
