I hope that for A-Rod's sake he chooses to stay in NY. It is more than just playing in the NY spotlight, it is for his place in baseball history as well. Figure, love him or hate hate him, he is a shoo in to the HOF. By staying in NY, by obtaining longevity with this club, there is a better probability of him getting in with an interlocking NY instead of the possibility of no insignia at all. If money proves to be his only motivator, then go in like a man without a country. This could be the catalyst for his reason alone to stay with the team where he has achieved milestones, his most recent: the 500 club. Hmmmmm.....Now, if he can only solidify his stellar career with a World Series win.

I don't think he will opt out of his contract. He is finally liked by the Yankees fans, and that just goes to show you that in the NY, it doesn't matter if your team wins, as long as you perform good. Don't they learn anything. The jets lose to the pats, why because the pats are a better TEAM, not just a bunch of players, The Red Sox beat the yankees, why, because they have a better all around team, which is quite sad, since the yankees can just buy whoever they want these days. Maybe if the Yankees went back to when they actually raised their own guys up through the farm system, instead of waiting for other teams to do it, then signing those guys, when they get too good for their team to afford them, then they would be a better team. Congrats on that Hughes kid, but I think he will be traded in a few years, so the Yanks can bring in someone else.

I think that the Giants are a good possibility for A-Rod to play. Next Year, Barry Bonds will be gone and there will be alot of Money available to pay. The SF Giants will need to replace Bonds with a strong popular player to put fans in the seats. And A-Rod would fit that nicely. A-Rod sure did compliment San Fran when the Yankees were in town.
I'm not sure A-rod likes the pressure in NY. Yankees have a strong hardcore fanbase that does pick on players for little things. I'm sure he wants to get out.

Maybe the San Francisco Giants... They would be crazy enough to pay $30 million per year for A-Rod. Bonds won't be with the team next season. Omar Vizquel and Pedro Feliz's contracts expire after this season. They just traded Matt Morris.
The Barry Zito signing hurts the Giants, but I can see the Giants spending 65% of their salary expenses on two players...

I believe he will.
Because,
- The next highest payroll team is the Boston Red Sox, they cant afford A-Rods contract because they spent 51 million on Dice K Matzusaka and another 11 million on J.D. Drewr so they cant afford his contract.
- The Angels arent getting arent getting Alex because the Angels GM said ''Spending %30 of our payroll on one players is not smart biz.''
- The Cubs clearly dont have the money after having a huge shopping spree during the off season.

I was reading this and one person wrote
"no way, Yankees practically own him and nobody is going to outbid them for his contract salary. I don't he won't leave nless he is really really un-happy, which I don't think he is."
haha, he has an opt out of his contract this year and next and the next. And the red-sox can def afford him.
So I think that most likely he will be playing for the Red-Sox next year, and since the only way he would go to another team is if he opts out of his contract and is a free-agent, the Red-Sox won't have to trade anyone to get him.
Although, the Red-Sox would be pretty stacked in their batting line-up if they got him....

Da-Bronx. The new Yankee Stadium will have the same dimensions as the old and he is doing well with HRs' as a Yankee. Unless he goes back to the Rangers (where he averaged the most home runs by season) or a more hitter friendly park, I think he stays in NY.

i think of he's enjoying like a guy interior the final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of his settlement, making a play for the subsequent one. Mentally, he's appeared at of the Yankees and he's off next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to a team the place he can play shortstop. i think of we will see A-Rod in a Giants uniform next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

i hope he will stay with the yankees! im a die hard yankee fan, and i think if it wasnt for his great year this season he might have considered moving to a different team, but seeing as he has just improved this year with the yankees as well as just hit his 500th hes destined to stay with the yanks!!

wherever they pay the most. every year could be the last for a pro athlete and then then the big bucks stop. it is gangsta baseball, steroids and balls, the dollar is king and proganda makes the cash register ring. and that is all it is about from inside. on the outside a lot of other bs comes into the picture but it is all bs.
