I completely agree with you on this issue. The books, like most liberals, are anti-christian. The liberals want to take christianity out of society and replace it with a communist agenda. They have managed to take prayer out of the schools and the ten commandments out of the courthouse. These books need to be destroyed. This isn't about freedom of speech. This is about saving our country from morally bankrupt thinking of the liberals

Umm...Excuse me? ought to you're saying that back in language the youngsters who would be analyzing this e book can understand? a 10-year-old baby is *not* going to understand all of that from analyzing a e book some boy who is going via becoming up. And, once you verify out the basics, it is somewhat plenty what Harry Potter is approximately. i don't see the place J.ok. Rowling's very own likes and dislikes make lots of a distinction. And, i might choose to show out, the bureaucratized Ministry of Magic you point out that makes muggle-borns sign in as so or which *makes* youthful witches and wizards attend Hogwarts is in simple terms *after* Voldemort took over. have you ever even study the books? Or have you ever in simple terms been informed approximately them by using somebody who might have skipped over some quite important information? in case you do not in simple terms like the e book, like *actual everyone* else has reported, do in simple terms not study them. a majority of those posts extremely won't do each and every individual and strong in any admire, so, extremely, in simple terms get a weblog and placed all this on it, through fact then you extremely won't could study each and every of the responses with reference to the way you're incorrect or which you do not understand what you're speaking approximately or which you're stupid, through fact distinctive people on Y!A will say that.

Take your pick Communist or Fascist, opposite ends of the spectrum. Both advocate burning books. Which do you favor? Probably Fascist since you state your enemy is Communist.
In America we believe in a free press. That means if YOU don't like the book than YOU don't have to read it. No one is twisting anyone's arm to buy or read the Harry Potter series.
It has actually done more good than harm in that it is pure fantasy, kids can tell the difference, and that it has encouraged more kids to read than anything else in recent decades.
It is FICTION. FICTION means not real. Just stories, that is all. Like Sci-Fi or even classics like Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" or Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". These are fiction. Just read and enjoy. That is what they are for nothing else. To read (pardon the pun) more into them that what is there is ridiculous.
With that I wish the fleas of a thousand camels to infest your arm pits.

Funny, I just thought it was a book that clearly defined good and evil that was inpiring young and old alike to read. I've never even read the Harry Potter books nor do I have any intention of reading them. However, I still think you're making a ridiculous assumption.
Also, my refusal to ever take part in anything resembling the Nazi party keeps me from the idea of banning books.

Unfortunately, adults frequently read something in a book that just isn't there. Children are reading more than ever before. If a series of books can do that, then everything else is just hoopla over nothing. It is for certain that children aren't reading any "left wing liberal propoganda" in the book. They are simply enjoying a well written fantasy story. It is amazing what adults can find to complain about.

Wow --- I'd thought I'd seen all the irrational arguments out there -- this is a new one.
Look at any 100 childrens books -- they all show the kids standing up to authority and breaking some rules to do the right thing -- that's the single common theme.
And yes, there are some allegorical complaints against fascism and fanaticism, and against racial discrimination -- but are you arguing those are good things?

I think you have lost your mind...Harry Potter is a good series of books..if you don't want to let your kids read them or see the movies, then don't...but don't go trying to make that decision for us all...because you are not qualified to do it...I am somewhat of a Conservative...and I like Harry Potter and I let my kids read the books and see the movies...

Hmmmm....interesting idea...ban the book...as in throw them into a big pile and burn them all.
You know I've seen this on some old news reels but it was difficult to understand because the narration was in German.
Read books. Don't burn them. If you don't like what they say then be a parent and don't let your kids read them.

"Ban the books"! wow.. I hope you are kidding.. next will you ban evolution as a silly 'liberal' idea?
If you have children.. it's not just your right, but your responsibility to raise them as you see fit.. so if you don't want them to read Harry Potter.. then by all means don't allow it. But you have NO right to dictate your personal beliefs outside of your family.

So you're saying that a portrayal of a rigidly bureaucratic and repressive government is intended to represent conservatism? And portrayals of fairness, equality and decency are intended to represent liberalism? OK, just wanted to get that straight.
