The View without Barbara Walters?

Don't you think the View would be so much better without Barbara Walters?

Ok..... Elisabeth gets on my nerves too but at least she's interesting, although most times I don't agree with her utterances. But Barbara, on the other hand, is boring and her jokes are not funny. Maybe it's because she's getting old, but I oft times wonder why she is so popular to begin with. She doesn't seem to communicate very well.

Not necessarily. The View is supposed to represent different ages & races and Barbara represents the older senior citizen crowd. She may not be young, hip and exciting, but she keeps those seniors citizens who are at home watching the show. They can identify with her and know who she is because they've grown old with her. You may not like her jokes, but the seniors at home may be able to relate.

I don't agree. I think Barbara's experience and age give her the advantage of discussing diverse subjects with a long range perspective. I find her discussions of all the world leaders and prominent people she has met throughout the years informative, interesting and at times amusing. I think Barbara Walters is one of the industry's treasures.

In the Fall, she'll only be on once a week. That's if they hire someone to replace Star and Eliz. comes back from maternity leave. By then Whoopi should have everything under control. Barbara just seems to monopolize the conversation and I get tired of her yakking all the time. She should retire.

i dont like barbara walters because when the view had hugh hefners girlfriends, holly, bridget, and kendra, were guests on the show, barbara was mean to them and very rude about asking them personal questions.


yes, i agree with you. she is boring, shes getting too old, and... i dont know, i just hated the way she treated those girls. they didnt deserve it.


also, i think elizabeth is a little annoying, but atleast she is a breath of fresh air on the show.

Barbara does bug me sometimes but not as much as Elisabeth. I mean, Barbara does bring experience to the table and the show is about representing different viewpoints about current issues and events, so it's important to have someone like Elisabeth, too, but it certainly seems like everyone is more at ease and they have more fun when Barbara isn't there.
I know it's HER show, but Barbara reminds me of my older aunt whom we have to kind of watch our P's & Q's around or we get a "tsk, tsk" and you can't totally express your opinion.

The View is sooooooo overrated and it's actually a waste of time. Since Meredith and Star are no longer there, it's so crappy! And they are bringing Whoppi Golderg (sp.) in to replace Rosie O'Donnell.....I'll never watch The View again!

Damn, who cares who is fat! That was really stupid to say up there.. I love the View and I missed some of what was happening. Rosie is off the view now? Or they said she was on vacation? Well since Rosie was on, look at all the awesome gifts that audience got, great stuff!! My preference is Rosie..

Barbara doesn't bother me too much, but I would love for Elizabeth to leave. Can't stand her holier than thou attitude. I'm so glad they picked Whoopie over Sherry Shepard. I think she will add a lot.

Since she pretty much owns the show, I really doubt that would happen. I'm sure she draws in an older audience, but she doesn't do a thing for me.
