Why in the beginning of the Beatles, Ringo just played simple on the drums, and on Abbey Road he is really really good?

I think the whole sound of the Beatles became more complex and creative by Abbey Road (including Ringo's drumming). Compared to early songs like 'Love Me Do' the songs on Abbey Road are way more musically nuanced.

abbey road is by all accounts using a session player instead of or as well as ringo. but I never cared. once they stopped touring it didnt even matter . ringo was a part of the personality of that group bands do overdubs of so much stuff they could never hope to play live like they record their albums.

they could have just as easily asked ringo to do a gazillion fills and other stuff hed never done before just for the album but you dont do that do you?

the producer says something like we need a certain sound like so and so and the session player comes up with it because that what session players do best

The beatle songs in the beginning were simple, and he drummed accordingly. As the songs that were "presented to him" by John and Paul became more in-depth, Ringo also drummed accordingly. Obviously he grew at his craft as the years went on, but a drummer is basically influenced or inspired by the music he is "subject to listen to" being a drummer usually does not write the music for songs but rather follows the vibe "accordingly?

John Bonham.....this would properly be a severe question? Beatles have been great, and Ringo replaced into solid at conserving the beat, yet wasn't very creative. Bonham had creativity. Keith Moon replaced into the in basic terms right drummer besides the fact that.

Ringo has always been a good drummer. Kind of like Charlie Watts of the Stones, they both have excellent backbeats and just did and still do what needs to be done.

Like anything else - practice makes perfect. He wasn't that great in the beginning, but after ten years, by the time of Abby Road, he was much better.

I guess its the old adage of getting better with time, practice, age, whatever you want to call it. I thought he was always good, in the early days the beats were just simpler on their music. Thats just what I think it was.

He got better through his career. Now he is actually pretty good playing drums for various groups.
