1) 4 sqrt 5
2) - sqrt 2
3) 6 sqrt 7
4) x = 81

The first three are done with the distributive property. For example:

2 sqrt(5) + 2 sqrt(5) =
(2 + 2)sqrt(5) =
4 sqrt(5)

2 sqrt 7 + 3 sqrt 7 + sqrt 7 =
(2 + 3 + 1) sqrt(7) =
6 sqrt(7)

The fourth problem is solved by squaring both sides:

sqrt(x) = 9
sqrt(x)^2 = 9^2
x = 81
