I'm a liberal, and I just want everyone to be happy and content with the life they have.
I have nothing against rich people, nothing against poor people, and nothing against the middle class.
Apparently, you're basing your biased judgements on the liberals who care too much about money and not enough about happiness for all....
And if I'm a stupid person for being liberal and wanting happiness, then would you rather have me be someone who wanted unhappiness and hatred spread across the country?

I personally believe the whole driving force behind the social justice movement is complete and utter jealousy.

For this question one of the most applicable of God’s laws is the tenth; Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house.

Some of the most important lessons our parents taught us were work hard to get ahead, there are no free hand outs and life’s not fair.

One of the most important speeches ever given by a political leader was given by John F. Kennedy: “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you: Ask what you can do for your country."

All of the above are anti-socialist (i.e. anti-contemporary liberal/progressive) ideals.

Socialism is supposed to level the playing field but, it goes against everything that is human. It also places too much power into few too many peoples’ hands.

The only thing that can level the playing field and maintain a truly free society is education, hard work and the avoidance of career ending choices in life both at and away from work.

Take note that the same people who want social justice are those who want reduced work weeks and more vacation. They want more for less.

They don’t take into account the years of college, the years of hard work required to make their way up the corporate ladder, or the years of hard work required to build and maintain a business.

This to me exemplifies the lazy, free hand out, jealous attitude that is the contemporary liberal movement.

EDIT:
Please note my agreement with coragryph’s answer above hence my use of the “contemporary liberal/progressive” category. My above rant does not include liberals of the truest sense of the word. They are not socialists (although they are obviously more prone to slant towards the socialist ideologies).

Why do you listen to the same broken record instead of finding out things for yourself?

I know liberal people and none of them are interested in making rich people poor. They are interested in helping the poor people, a very notable Christian trait.

We don't. Nobody (Well, maybe the extremists, but you can't judge a whole group by the actions of the most extreme members) wants to take away enough of the wealthy's money to make them poor, or to give enough money to the poor to make them rich. All we want is for everyone to have equal opportunities, and a helping hand if they need it. If they don't take the hand, that's their problem.

I want to make poor people rich. But I'm not dumb enough to think that all poor can become rich without a helping hand.

Depends WHICH "liberals" you mean.

Many just the working poor to get a decent benefits package.

Some will the ask this same question in reverse, given the financial divide in this country.

Liberals don't. Socialists do.

And it's because socialists believe that a common standard of education, health care and welfare is good for the country. Or at least, a minimum standard, and everyone then has the option or rising about that minimum with what's left.

I oppose the practice. But that's my opinion, and the opinion of many other liberals and conservatives.

Don't confuse the socialist agenda with the liberal philosophy -- they are NOT the same.

#1. They want to buy the vote of the poor masses.
#2. They feel guilty about having $ even though they worked their bu** off for it.
#3. They have no common sense whatsoever. Look at who Sean Penn has buddied up with. Need I say more?

Excellent question. I guess as long as you are poor, the Dems can keep giving them hand-outs in exchange for their votes.

Because when the poor gets rich, and realizes he has to have his money snatched away from him for involuntarily charity, he or she won't vote for a Democrat anymore!
