Typical Liberal response? You never did answer the question. As to why I asked, taxes are such a concern with conservatives, so when a conservative raised them, I wanted to know how conservatives in particular felt. It's not a tit-for-tat question that "well the Democrats did more."

Typical response, "I can't actually answer the question so I'll generalize and attack."

Bad. That's largely why he lost - he broke his pledge on taxes and many went to Perot.

A bit hypocritical on that question don't you think? But typical Liberal rant not telling the whole story I see you failed to mention all the Tax cuts Bush put threw . And why the hell would you complain. The now Liberal controlled Congress (left wing Loonies) are going crazy with tax hikes Achieving record highest tax hikes EVER But that's OK with you huh? Maybe that has something to do with another record the Democrats broke. That being the Lowest approval rating EVER by congress. So now the question is why would any one with intelligence vote Democrat? Answer If they had intelligence they wouldn't

I was PO'd when he raised taxes, as he had said he wouldn't in his campaign for president, although, let us tell the whole truth shall we? When George Bush Sr. was the president, the Congress was completely ruled by Democrats, and it is they, who insisted on higher taxes. Mr. Bush Sr. vetoed the first bill, written by the Democrats, and voted by the Democrats in Congress to raise our taxes. There was a lot of pressure on Mr. Bush Sr. by Democrats, after the bill returned to the president for the second time, they having voted again that taxes should be raised.
Previously, before 1993, Democrats had been in control of the House and Senate for 40 years. Who will you blame for the extraordinary tax hikes during those 40 years? George Washington? Sorry, he was dead during that time period.
Mr. Bush also didn't close that many military bases. You can give the credit for a weak government to Bill Clinton, his wife, and his hoe, if you want to hear the truth. No President in history has closed as many military bases as did Clinton, or weakened our forces with lack of development, and equipment, as Bill Clinton.
Let's stick blame where it belongs, eh? Tell the truth, and shame the devil.

Democrat congress and we were at peace and they were realigning the bases. I was cool with it. Realignment was needed, we had a lot of redundancy in the same cities. I reviewed the list pretty closely and they made sense. Clinton was doing okay until he started going way overboard on it. He went outside the BRAC recommendations.
