You sister shouldn't give in to peer pressure. If she doesn't want to, she doesn't want to and doesn't have to.

if she really doesnt want to, tell her to just ignore her friends when they bring up the whole "oh come on be in cross country!" thing.
i was in volleyball one year and didnt like it at all. so the next year i decided to stat instead. my friends told me it wasnt the same and to this day they are Still naggin me to be in volleyball(and i wish they'd give it a rest, but what can ya do). and even my sister nagged at me for a while which caused my dad to nag and my mom and brothers...no one was on my side for this whole "I REALLY HATE VOLLEYBALL" thing. (i mean come on, how hard is that to understand!)
but anyhow your sister should do what she wants to do. if she honestly doesnt want to be in cross country, then stop listening to her friends when they bring up the subject
hope i helped

Be careful; at 9th grade, dropping out of sports is a sign of drug use. I can't imagine my friends telling me to drop out of an activity I enjoy. They don't sound like good friends (or perhaps they are new friends trying to get her to do something different, like drugs). Marijuana is usually the culprit in these situations and at this age.

Ur right it's up to her if she wants to do it, now unless the friends are just having her back thats one thing because they'll have her back if she doesn't want to do it.
I hope she doesn't let it get to her and those smae friends don't turn they backs on her if she says no to doing it

totally, it is her decision and her friends should appreciate her decision. Not try and pressure her into doing something she doesnt want to do.

well, yeah... but I still think she should. Or she'll be an outcast when all her friends are talking about practice or the meets and she wasn't there.

she should do what she wants to do. not what you or her friends tell her to do. if she gets into it for the wrong reasons, she may just quit later.
