I am troubled by the lack of security when it comes to the protection of the children who are accessing Yahoo!Answers. Should Y/A step up to the plate and require more information from their users so that less kids get on here? I personally, am sickened by the total lack of responsibility from Y/A in organizing their system to keep these kids out of an obvious adult site. They spend their time sending "violation notices" for ridiculous reasons, when in fact they should step up their operations in trying to find a way to keep access to kids at a minimum.

Tell me what your thoughts are about this.

I personally am closing my Yahoo!Answers page soon, due to this very reason. I mean, we have got crude pictures being placed, pedophile types just waiting for a kid to come on, and vulgar language everywhere. Yahoo!Answers needs to do something more to keep these kids off.

![RaWr]! - I am not knocking the kids getting on here. What concerns me, is that you don't know who you might come in contact with. Do you know me? Or the person above or below you? 10 to 1 you have made contact with at least someone here that you DON'T known.

My Chemical Romance....Listen that is not my point. You guys have every right to use the internet. But you have to be subjected to so much everywhere you go, that it would be nice to protect you alittle more.

I agree that this website is very offensive at times and there are a lot of crude things said here. But rather than punish the kids who come here and enjoy this site, Yahoo Answers should clean up the garbage by sensoring everything before it's posted.
I get extremely offended by what I read and I'm 39. The kids aren't the problem, it's creeps like Chester M and Skinhead Charlie. Yahoo is failing all of us who come here for the right reasons.
I hope you don't leave. If you do, then the bad guys win.
If you want good things to come out of this, then stay and fight!

I don't think that kids shouldn't be allowed on here, I think that all of the bad stuff should be nocked off. it's not really a chat room, and kids might want to ask questions on here too, I think that it's the adults should shape up. besides, all the kids who are too young won't know what the pictures are, and the kids who are old enough will. if the little kids ask thier parents they'll keep them off the site for a long time. like I said, adults should shape up!

That's not fair to discriminate against the kids.
I'm 14 and I haven't done anything to violate this site.
If anything, it's the adults that are acting like kids.
The kids that are on here are way more mature than some of the stupid adults on here.
So, I disagree with you when you say that the kids should be banned...that would be a lot of people off of here.
The trolls should be banned....when the start to post outrageous material, they should be automatically kicked out.

So yeah, I'm done now.

Kids have a right to be on Y!A. I'd rather see a 18+ area of Y!A, where kids are not allowed. There are a lot of questions that kids can learn from this site.

I totally agree with you more protection is needed for the kids in here but with the absence of parental supervision not much can be done but any ways you have my support!

I completely agree. Where are these kids parents. A lot of then say how old they are in their answers and yet they are still allowed to be on here. I do not understand.

if the problem is the adult, why kick out the kids?
why doesn't Y!A just increase security, on lanuage, and pictures. personaly, i havent seem that much bad stuff, but i usually stay in rock and pop.

I'm a 13 year old girl- and I don't violate anyone. I hate getting violated- so I don't violate any one. I love Joe Elliott- so I'm not that whacked. and I hope no one reports me for this answer. And I only answer questions if I know they are appropriate for me to read.

Yes, but there isn't much you CAN do. Kids can easily lie about there age on the internet, and there's no way the Y! operators will know the truth.
