I have been with my man since Nov 99, before i was with him i was in a relationship with a substance abuser (male) but before that i was in a relationship with a female.
My husband knows i have had same sex relationships, and seems ok as long as i am no longer interested in women in that way,
I would never! be unfaithful, but on the other hand i do enjoy attention from gay women when i have the oppurtunity.
There are a few gay women that come into my work and we have conversations, exchange music we like and so forth.
This particular woman Mandy, is really sweet, a lovely person.
So do people think this is being unfaithful, being appreciated by the same sex, or appreciating the same sex?

You are who you are. A bit of camaraderie and a slightly flirtations friendship is not the worst that can happen, and as long as you do not cross a certain line, I think you are OK. Men do this all the time, married or not. If your spouse does not feel threatened or jealous, and he trusts you to be faithful then all is well. You seem very intelligent, and I am sure you know the fine line between right and wrong.

I do not think of it as cheating providing you do not act on any of these impulses. I know that it sounds a little sexist stating that same sex flirting is different that flirting with opposite sex but I suppose in my mind it feels safer. Regardless we total strangers opinions are not what is important it is that of the male that you've been with since Nov. 99. So why not sit down with him and have a good open minded and mature conversation on the topic and see what he thinks and feels about this situation.

To appreciate and to act on that appreciation are two separate things. If you can separate yourself emotionally from your feelings toward these women, things should be fine. Beware however of letting your appreciation blossom into more than casual acquaintance. It is all too easy for ti to develop quickly into something more meaningful.

Would you like Mandy doing those things with your husband?
Not that she would but the idea of some one paying attention to him with the idea of maybe hooking up. It's disrespectful.

As long as it goes no further, it is harmless flirting. NOW if you take it to the next level, say meeting for drinks after work that is cheating. You could MAYBE get away with having lunch together but any thing else is cheating.

No, it's not unfaitful...but it might lead to a bad road, if you let it escalate farther. (Hanging out after work...Spending time together. Ect)
