Clearly I have control over technology
(the sender is not aware of his intentions)
and I'm not sure why my computer keeps telling me I don't know MY INTENTIONS!
(Because he doesn't know his intentions!)
I know I'm screwed without power.
(What controls power?)

Technology does not have control of my life, but I think it's fair to say that I am influenced by the will of people expressed through technology.

technology has control. if there is one small problem the world comes to a stand still. imagine if all computers got a virus to stop all computers working (i dont just mean computers you use at work) what would the world do? it would mess up everything. the clocks, television, electricals, phones, everything. we ruly so heavily on technology now days we would have forgotten what to do with out it! try and live a day with no technology. impossible! it controls out lives!

I think i have control of the technology around me but the same cant be said for my younger brother and sister because unless they are either playing on the computer or playing on Gamecube, they get very irritable.
They even go to the extremes of making sure they wake up earlier then than the other one to ensure they get to pick which one they will get on.

We don't have control because we really don't need control in this part. If the power goes out, if robbers take everything, or the great flood comes again. We'll all survive just fine without digital cable and internet... and we'll all be just as happy or unhappy as we were before those things. We control what we need and let the rest flourish around us unchecked.

Good question !!!!!
Technology does enthrall and amuse me, annoy and entertain me. I only communicate with the friends also technologically inclined, and have developed an attitude of taking these technology as all part of my environment. Does it control me? Do the washer and dryer , flush toilet , car , microwave, toaster, control me?

thats a good, question. we often dont have power over what we creat, do we, the matrix(the movie) deals with you question very well. I think neither has control over the other, but both rely on each other to survive. though in siome parts of the world technology is non existant but they still lead perfectly normal lives. But in a society were we need tech, to live so to speak. But if you think of it, yes we do have "control over tech we know how its made and works and it has a specific purpose. But i think its more down to need. we "need" eachother. I dont think it has much to do with control.
:) good question!

judging by the tantrums I throw when my computer locks up, I would say it controls me. But , I do keep my acoustic guitar in tune, in case the electric goes out.
