When i ask questions about solid food and how/when they are introduced, people that answer get thumbs down more than thumbs up..

for example, question i posted not too long ago.. about having 3 meals of baby food a day, at what age.. most people said about 5-6 months... Most got at least 1 thumbs down... WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT DIDNT AGREE WITH THEIR ANSWER... why don't they asnwer themselves??

It IS the people that are answering. They're giving others thumbs down so their answer looks bad. "Best-Anwser-Hungry"

I started my son on solids (jar baby food) at three and a half months. I never once put cereal or any other food in a bottle; I started with a spoon from the start. The reason I started the food was to help him sleep longer at night (which according to the link I am providing, is a myth). I still, at 6 months, only feed him baby food at breakfast and at dinner. Experts say that babies need the nutrients from the formula (or breast milk) until a year old. I guess it's ultimately up to the parents. Read the article.

I only give a thumbs down if it is a really bad answer or has no viability to the question.
i give thumbs up if i think the answer is a really good one and i agree with what it said.
I think a lot of people will just thumbs down everyone so their answer will look good. you can always tell when everyone has a thumbs down except for the person on the bottom!

Who knows...selfish people I guess. I don't understand why this turns into a competition. I rarely leave thumbs up or down for answers. Unless it's a completely stupid answer or a really great answer. I just like answering, who cares if you get "best answer"? Is there a prize or something when you reach level 20? LOL

I agree, if you are going to give thumbs down then you should put an answer. I teach parents about introducing solids as part of my job, and people are so touchy about this subject. Solids shouldn't be started until 6 months of age, but most parents wants to start sooner because they are excited.

I think some people just give thumbs down because they can. I think others give them to everyone so that theirs is the only one without one!
