When a president is sworn in, he promises to uphold the Constitution. Ron Paul is the only candidate who has consistently shown that he takes the Constitution into consideration EVERY TIME he makes a decision about legislation in Congress. He has consistent, demonstrable principles.

The other fact to consider is that he is the only candidate - on either side - who wants us to end this war now. All the other candidates, Republican and Democrat, have not only stated they would continue the war (a timetable for withdrawal is continuing the war until some future date), but have also stated - indirectly or directly - that they would consider using a PRE-EMPTIVE NUCLEAR STRIKE (see article link).

The fact that the other candidates would even CONSIDER using a nuclear weapon - a weapon that melts your skin off without necessarily killing you - is so disgusting, it had to even fathom. And to consider using it as on OFFENSIVE weapon shows just how far the hole we have gone as a country and how truly terrible our leaders have become.

Ron Paul thinks we should take care of Americans, not melt our enemies. See www.lewrockwell.com/paul for his personal views.

Ron Paul has now received more contributions from US Army servicemen and woman than any other candidate. This is from the Army Times.

Among Republicans running for president, the anti-war candidate — Texas Rep. Ron Paul — has the highest total of campaign contributionns from service members, according to the most recent Federal Election Commission reports. Paul collected $14,840 from service members, slightly more than the $14,775 collected by Arizona Sen. John McCain, a supporter of the war in Iraq.

I agree with Phil B. & have read the Lou Rockwell article.

I have 2 questions for the reading audience.

How many reading have read the Lou Rockwell article???
And how many reading turned to someone close to them in church yesterday and said,"peace be with you?"

I personally grew up hearing the phrase," Peace on earth & goodwill towards man!"

Doctor Ron Paul is the 'ONLY' American elected representitive that takes his sacred vows, to save peoples lives,,,,,all people irregardless of nationality or religion,,,,,as a physician seriously.

Personally I feel it is my obligation, through a peace seeking leader such as Ron Paul to stop the madness of war, so future generations can live together in peace-ful harmony.

After all, exactly what is the U.S. Constitution all about?

It's about a group of people from all over the planet, living in a newly declared country called the ""UNITED"" states of America, declaring that,"ALL MEN & WOMAN ARE CREATED EQUAL," and should be given the opportunity to enjoy, "Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Happiness!!!

This document was the first of it's kind ever, in the known world, that guaranteed rights for individuals,,,,,,and I true-ly believe Ron Paul as well as I, will defend its sacred words with vigor, that's why Ron Paul served his country in the U. S. Air Force,,,,,he was doing his part to preserve the words of the U. S. Constitution !!!!!!!
Thank you.

Well apart from he's a nut job, I'd say his main drawback is personallity. The job of the president is to meet one on one with world leaders. Ron Paul would either start a fight or have them lining up to kick our butts cause we look so weak.
His principled stand lacks acceptance of the last 100 years of supreme court rulings. He needs to do some reading and simmer down.

Simply because he is honest and he has the integrity that most politicians lack, and that he will uphold and protect the constitution, and the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of all Americans, and that he will do what is right instead of what is 'popular' or what will get him votes. I can't praise him higly enough. He really is the true American patriot, and he is simply the best candidate for America.

Whether most people know him or not, or that people misunderstand him is the fault of the people, and all the propaganda that is polluting the minds of Americans.

Because he will stay within the job description of President as it appears in the Constitution.

I don't know of any other candidate (currently or within the last 20 years) whose platform has not included promises to ignore those limitations.

Cora, lighten up. I see posts from Hillary and Obama supporters constantly.

I like his passion. If he was Pro-Choice and Pro-Gay Rights I would support him 100%. I am actually surprised he is not - he seems rather progressive and intelligent. I can't support a canddiate who is against my rights. That's why I only like Rudy on the Republican side.

He shouldn't be, and won't be. Ron Paul is a wackjob. The true GOP canidate has not ran yet. His name is Fred Thompson. Once he comes into the race, the election is over.
