Personally i think it is because there is something in their own life they cant deal with, and so when they get the chance, they laugh at others misfortune in order to make themselves feel better...
Make sense?
Although it is a shallow way to deal with things!

their lives suck and it makes em feel better about their own misfortune. when counseling and pills fail, just take pleasure in someone else's misery

lack of a life or something to do, and sometimes they enjoy seeing people they hate get hurt. that is, i guess the result of resentment towards others- i don't have time for people like that.

i laugh to keep from crying, if that makes sense. i can't change some people circumstances, so i laugh.
guess I'm sick in a way. but, for me, it is a coping mechanism.
