Most people just don't realize that forgiving some one does nothing to absolve the offender. It doesn't reduce what they did or make it any less offensible. All forgiveness does is free you (the forgiver) from having to deal with it any longer. When you forgive, the occurrence is put to one side and you get on with your life. Eventually it's forgotten, but the lesson learned stays with you. It's called "experience"
Harboring old hurts and grudges can only mess up your own life . And the one who wronged you wins after all.

I can forgive eventually. But forgetting is impossible. It's a great way to keep from getting disappointed again.
