I had heard a lot about this movie and really wanted to see it. What everyone failed to mention to me was that it was entirely in Spanish and I'd have to read a 2 hour movie. I almost gave up then. I have to say, though, after about the first 20 minutes, I didn't even realize I was having to read the subtitles. I was very glad I'd stuck with it, it turned out to be one of the best movies I'd seen in a long time.

Pan's Labyrinth was a great movie. However, it's not french, it's spanish. The story takes place in the Spanish Civil War (before World War II) and the movie is spoken in Spanish. Nevertheless, the Director is from Mexico (Like me). And you are right, it's hard to follow some time, too much fantasy going around but it's natural coming from Guillermo del Toro (Mimic, Hellboy, Blade II). Anyway, take care.

I'm considering buying the DVD cos the trailer for the cinemas looked so good.I can't get on youtube as I use an online centre and that site is restricted but I'll watch your question and decide when I read a few opinions on it..could I ask that no-one post any spoilers please,not till I'VE watched it at least!!.xxx

the movi e was outstanding! most people had a hard time with the subtitles at the bottom but if you follow the movie it really has some great effects and lessons learned about life and the path you take.

It is quite odd because the movie is about fairies but in England they rated it as a 15, but ido agre it´s a very good movie

Yeah, it is a very dark, edgy movie. It was great! I loved all of the costumes and elaborate sets they had. It was a masterpiece of film making.

yeah I saw this about a month ago, it was very creepy! especially that thing at the end that came to life when the little girl ate the fruit!
