Ok my hubby has always liked the name Lief (sounds like leaf), ever since he was little. I believe he is determined to name our son that. Which Im fine with by the way. So my question is what would go with that name? Should it be a middle name? Im just confused cause I cant think of any boy names I really like that sound good with it. Any advice you have would be great, thanks.

yes my hubby chose it because of leif erikson, he loves the history of the vikings. If you dont like the name lief you dont have to answer, Dont be rude! I wouldnt pick on the name you choose for your child.

Maple Lief. :-)
Just kidding.
How about Ethan Lief?
That said, a lot of it depends on your last name. What sounds good by itself often sounds awful when attached to a last name that doesn't flow with it.
As far as name-calling is concerned, as someone mention as a concern, I wouldn't worry about that. Kids are creative. You can name your kid Michael Smith, and they'll cook up a nasty nickname for it.

Funnily enough I am reading a series of books to my kids at the moment, and the main character is called Lief - he's a brave, fabulous prince-who-thinks-he's-a-farmer's-son type. (Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda, if you're interested)
I think Lief would sound good with some other nordic type name, or one with 2 or 4 syllables. I really like Sebastian as a middle name, but it's got to sound nice to YOU, as you're the ones who'll be using it most!

I actually like the pronunciation Lay-f better than Leaf, but that's my opinion
Leif Michael
Leif Andrew
Leif Jacob
or as a middle name
Jacob Leif
Riley Leif
Warren Leif

I can't think of many either. Every name I put in the middle sounds like "Leave Scott, or Leave Jude" etc. I might consider it as a middle name.

maybe lief can be the middle name and then for the first name it could be:
Danny Lief
Kade (Cade), (if you prefer) Lief
Hayden Lief
Kaden or Caden Lief
Kaelem Lief
