Exactly -- they fail to do what they promise, and they fail to do what their constituents demand.

That makes them hated by the opposition, and unpopular among their own constituents.

As opposed to Republicans who are hated by their opposition, but at least moderately popular among their own base.

There is NO way the democrats are going to lose the election. The reason is immigration. The business lobby in the Republican party fully embraces some amnesty provisions. The right wingers fully think amnesty is a foolish, or even worse an evil, idea. In my opinion, the business groups will finance Giuliani into the Republican nominee. The result is that there will be a large split in the Republican party into a third candidate: either Tancredo, Paul, or someone else.

This is too big of a split for any party to find a candidate to make everyone happy. The democrats just need to run a breathing body and they will win by default.

I'll give you 3 reasons:

1. Because Americans still remember the lies & decietfulness of former democratic president Bill Clinton.

2. Because democrats have no clear cut answer on how to stop the wars & control the mighty industrial military complex called the USA corporation.

3. Because for the first time in most Americans lifetimes we have a true American Patriot in the Presidential race running called Ron Paul, and he just happens to be running under the Republican party ticket, the party Thomas Jefferson founded.

Two words: computer balloting.

The biggest attack on democracy in the last fifty years has not been communism, but the move away from the paper, hand counted ballot. In a political environment where the White House outs secret service agents for being married to Democrats it is naive to believe they will not do what they can to steal an election.

It has already been done once. Why not twice?

Because it is Hillary's only chance to win because of the emnity over Bush, and she's going to take it. On an otherwise level field, Hillary has zero chance of being elected. I hope you are correct, the Dems blow it, but there is too much uncertain. Unity08 is bound to take away votes from both parties, but will likely harm one party more than the other. It remains to be seen who get hurt and who gets helped.

The Democrats are gonna win, don't worry about it,if you don't believe me look at Iraq where everything is going fine, just like the US Economy where it's Booming right now,and Home Foreclosures are at record lows,if you believe all that you're a Republican, and if you live in the real world you know that's not true,If the Democrats nominate Howdy Doody they will still win, that's why they are raising more money than the Republicans.

Most dems based there vote on party lines. Many undecides based there votes on wanting change. As we have learned the only change is now congress gets fridays off for football. There is no majic pill to make Iraq go away. Right or wrong it has to take its course now. I think undecided/imdependents are starting to realize that.

I'm a democrat but I'm very disappointed with congress. They don't seem to be united on much, even things that are of utmost importance to their constituents. I'm speaking of the warrantless surveillance for one thing. Who is going to protect our rights if not them? I realize their majority is small, but I would think they would have the backbone to administer a small thing like getting a warrant to spy on Americans even if its after the fact. It comes up again in six months. They better get it together.

No unified vision. Period.

Get 20 Democrats in a room and ask them what the most important issues are, they will give you 20 different answers.

The only thing that will keep them from retaking the presidency and a larger majority in both houses will be a catastrophic asteroid impact, wiping out all life on the planet. I hope that's not what you're foreseeing.

I can't give you a reason why they may lose. but i'll give several reasons why they can't lose. Abu Ghraib, Iraq, Katrina, Gonzales. Tillman, Guantanomo, the list goes on. These Republicans have pissed off so many people that I just can't see what you're seeing. Guaranteed the Democrats will not lose this one. Good luck!!!
