Without guns and violence America would still be kissing the royal bottom in London. America would never have become the super power it is. Hitler and the axis would not have been stopped. Not to mention the numbers of violent criminals who would not be caught or killed making the streets safe for everyone.

Anyone who brings a baseball bat to a gun fight usually ends up at the funeral home.

God made man, Sam Colt made em even.

With Rights comes Responsibility. These are things both sides need to comprehend. Sure you can own a gun as long as you go through a thorough background check. As a gun owner, I think there needs to be more checks and balances as far as individuals selling guns to other individuals since the background checks are only good for a store.

Gun ownership is a god given RIGHT in this country. For all you liberals who don't quite understand that it means the GOVERNMENT CAN"T take it away!!
To the shrill people here who think Guns are evil, what if the arguement was about the press? How many peoples lives have been destroyed by the irresponsible hyenas with press cards? Princess Di comes to mind. Now is it the printing press that is evil, or the editors who determine where their poison pen strikes next.
Next.... If the vast majority of American boys who fought in WWI and WWII hadn't grown up proficient in the use of firearms our casualty rates would have been MUCH Much higher. Could we have beaten England with out Frances help in 1783? Probably. It would have been much more difficult and costly. As far as being grateful to them, that stopped real fast during the Quasi Wars. Or didn't they teach you about those in school?
There are an estimated 200,000,000 to 250,000,000 million rifles and shotguns in the United States, and an estimated 160,000,000 handguns. The vast majority of these weapons ( over 99.9% ) are inthe hands of Law abiding citizens. The crime rate for Illegal use of a firearm is infintestimally SMALL compared to the crime rate for the Illegal use of an automobile. Does that mean we should BAN automobiles? Please note that no where in here have I mentioned Licensing. While Government has been able to pull the wool over the eyes of the sheeple in this country into beleiving that driving is a priviledge ( BS!!) they have tried and been unsuccessful in doing so with Gun ownership. Why is it BS to state that driving is a priviledge? How many Drivers licenses were issued for Horse and wagons? Or Ponies, or just plain old riding horses? NONE. They used the same roads, and had a RIGHT to use those roads. The Government recognized a cash cow when it saw one.

The only violence they speak off is that committed by persons defending their life from the repeat offenders the liberals keep releasing onto the streets.

They speak ill of guns for one reason: To get rid of them. Without guns in the citizens' hands, the liberals will no longer feel the need to be elected. Just as the Federalists foresaw and hence the reason for the 2nd amendment.

What happened in VA got everyone's attention. Our society is screwed up. There should be a system to try to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and mental cases. Other than that, although I don't own any guns, I would be very alarmed if the government tried to outlaw gun ownership. Especially in view of all the rights we are losing at this time.
It truly would become a nation of cops and robbers at that point with many innocent victims.

I don't really consider violence and guns what saved us from London, Hitler etc... I think your question implies that conservatives talk positively of guns and violence, and I can tell you that rational ones do not. Supporting the 2nd amendment is one thing, but putting guns and violence on a pedestal is another.

Guns are OK if they are used for defense responsibly, but violence is never OK.

It is the Socialist / Marxist method of attempting to gain MORE power and put American society into their TOTALITARIAN grasp. They will NEVER admit that our oh-so-wise founding fathers guaranteed the right to bear arms as a defense against an overpowering federal government.
They knew that power corrupts. Those who are corrupt want more power
Money is power. Guns are power.
Tyrants raise taxes and take away guns to take YOUR power for themselves.

Michael Moore said countries like England and Canada have no gun violents but all other crimes are up. Those numbers would be thru the roof in the U.S.. Remember 300 million guns did not kill any one yesterday or as I say WACO. The only reason we have guns was to prevent what happen at Waco. Good thing the media was there to cover it up. imagine if Bush did Waco.

THIS liberal talks ill of guns in untrained hands. The world of the 1700s had guns and no one owned a gun without training. It was part of their life. Today, we live in a world that is vastly more organized.

With ownership, SHOULD come with a test of competency. That is all I ask. If you own it, know how to use it.

Why do Republicans glorify killing? I am a Democrat and if another Country invades my country you will then call me a "insurgent". Republicans think God approves of and that It's OK to kill the "terrorist" or "insurgents" in Iraq. In Iraq there are over 250,000 civilians dead now. No one knows how many were in fact the evil "terrorist" or the evil "insurgents", no one. I do know that many were women and children.
BTW, many still think "freedom" is a gift to be given or that "democracy" can be installed. These are the things our counties founding fathers were willing to fight and died for.
These are the things won by the blood of those who would rather die than live without. The Iraqi people at some point must stand on there own two feet or they will fight each other and die for what they want. Or they could learn to live in peace and work for change without killing and vilolence.
