Because it takes very little effort to hurl mindless insults -- and it takes no thought or creativity -- though some insults can get pretty creative.
Actually focusing on the issues and trying to develop solutions requires far more time and effort -- and many people can't be bothered.
But it's not just one side -- all ends of the spectrum have fanatics and trolls more interested in bashing others than in fixing problems.

Both types are guilty of this but step out of the fray and look closely and you will see the media carefully fanning the flames every time they start to die down.
Is it a giant liberal/conservative conspiracy?
Well sort of. Its about the same thing that everything else is about in this country. Money. The media would like two separate sides because they can be sure of ratings that way. Lots of ticked off people means lots of viewers to watch lots of advertisements in between short diatribes of hatred. And keeping the country separated into two hateful groups makes programing much simpler.
Is it bad for us?
Absolutely, but when has the quest for more money ever taken a second place to the good of the country?

I agree that they do spend a lot of time degrading liberals, but isn't this question a little hypocritical? It seems to be a bit of a shot at the conservatives... and it's certainly not about any issue...

It's a trick the learned from Democrats. From 1994 to 2006 the Democrats never came up with any 'viable' ideas to solve problems. They just went on every media mode they could and kept saying how stupid Republicans were and their ideas wouldn't work. They never offered any (good) reasons why the ideas wouldn't work or offered alternatives.
And after twelve years Democrats got back in power. Of course they still aren't doing anything constructive. But when they don't they blame Republicans. Is this a great country or what? What ever happened to the take charge Democrats of days gone by?

What issues are you solving by attacking conservatives in this forum? Hmmmm....
Seems the real issue is that people always think the solutions are somebody's responsibility, the problems are somebody else's problems. This is a non-partison, human affliction.
We'd all do well to remember that when we point our finger at somebody else, at least three are pointing back at us!
Make a difference yourself and stop waiting for somebody else to do it.

Why don't you follow up on your damn promises that you made. Pelosi and her "ethics."
"She is drawing fire for putting Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.), who had $90,000 in alleged bribe money in his freezer, on the Homeland Security Committee. And The Washington Post reported during the weekend that she is helping chairmen raise money from donors with business before their committees."
The most open and honest congress? Please. They haven't stopped the war, they tried ramming an amnesty vote down our throat, and what the 'ell have they done?
Minimun wage increases?
"Another irony over the whole swearing in of Pelosi who was surrounded by her grandchildren(why were they not aborted) was the fact that a particular group of sickos that supports Pelosi is called NAMBLA, The North American Man/Boy Love Association which has dedicated itself to eradicating laws that protect young boys from Men who are sexual predators. Pelosi has marched in Gay Pride Parades alongside of members of NAMBLA and whose campaign has rumored to have accepted finances from the perverts who want to steal away the innocence of our children."
Nambla has her back, why shouldn't you.

Conservatives have little or nothing worthwhile to say on the issues. The attacks on liberals are deliberately designed to try to undermine the liberal success that conservatives see coming in the 2008 elections.

In case you haven't noticed, cons state the issues every time. It's liberals who refuse to listen or even acknowledge the issues. And, when a liberal is losing the debate, he or she breaks off the debate and resorts to calling the conservative, "racist." Give it a break.

They know that if they talk REAL issues they lose big time. So they resort to name calling and personal attacks as a way of changing the subject or deflecting further questions or facing answers they don't want to hear.
