Goodness gracious me! Just look at all those negative reactions to a simple question. Must be GOH doing all the bashing. (Groupies of Hollary).

Last time I checked, this was STILL a free country, albeit a might more restrictive and intrusive, but a free country none the less. And with that, we alone decide if we are to pay homage to said opinions, no matter what the reason!
My personal opinion is this, for example, if the govt. chooses to keep me bent over to pick up the soap, then I can tell them what I think without threat of retribution. Doesn't always work that way but it should. So for all you GOH's out there I say, you reap what you sow. You show disrespect, you get disrespect. Simple. Now if ya'll excuse me, I got to go pick up more soap.........

By using the avitar of Jerry Mahoney, a dummy are you telling us you are a dummy?

Sereiously, If one watches CSPAN, he sees how people can respect one another and have vastly different opinions. They repect one's right to a difference of opinion. They know that democracy thrives on dissent and difference of opinion.

Patrick Henry said "Although I disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it". That is the essense of how we debate in the USA.

Respect does not equate into actually agreeing with another's opinion, only to acknowledge others' rights to voice their opinions. Democracy requires this to be functionable.

Sounds like something someone with an opinion not deserving of respect would say.

F*ck that. Some views do not deserve to be respected.

People should usually have a certain amount of respect--especially if you are face to face,
however, since only opinions are espoused on a forum like this,
if there is a dumb opinion, what a great opportunity to tell them so.

If you do not respect others opinions, it will just show everyone what a ignorant bozo you really are, and no one will take you seriously!

Respect or Retart? I'm confused.

No, I am under no obligation to respect another's opinion. Some opinions are stupid, why would I respect stupidity?

If my opinion is that your opinion is stupid, are you obligated to respect my opinion (namley, that your opinion is stupid)?

HENRY VIII - that's a different issue. I respect someone's RIGHT to hold an opinion, but I don't have to repect that opinion. You're talking about two different things.
