For something like this, it would be customary to fly the family there for a few days so you can check it out and get some idea about what you would be facing.

It could be exciting, educational and mind-expanding...or for some this is very scary.

Money is money. But you will soon find out that the living conditions are VERY different then those of the US. Personally I would rather live here and have a job making 30,000 yearly than to move there for one making 100,000 and here are my reasons.
1) Here a person gan get into the car and take a drive in any direction. There an American is placing his life in his own hands.
2) Tourist areas are for the most part the only areas fit to be, as most other areas are filthy and crime infested.
3) Drinking tap water and some foods will make the general American sick enough to wish death.
4) Allot of Americans wish them not to be here. What makes them any different down there?
5) If an American is arrested there, they will spend ALLOT more time in jail than the average Mexican.
6) Auto theft runs rampant down there, so more than likely you will be stuck driving a smelly, barely running piece of crap to avoid having it stolen.
I have been there and from the moment I left the plane I couldn't wait to get out. Ultimately the choice is yours. I can't however see you living there 6 months without thinking that you have made a very bad mistake. Given the choice of 30 days in hell or 1 week in Mexico, I personally would be shaking hands with the devil. Sorry if this post offends anyone, but I've got my right of prefference and I prefer to never be in Mexico again. My thoughts are that if your not on vacation, then stay away.
