Yes , several times I know my answer was best. I gave more info and even looked up stuff. But the asker pick one that was not as good. I know lots of time my answer is not the best and I don't have a problem if I don't get chosen. I have even voted for someone else's answer when it was the best. But I'm like the others-something is wrong sometimes.

I don't know--I don't go back and look. How much time, figuratively speaking, can we spend looking over our shoulders without running off the road? Some people, though, ask thinly disguised rhetorical questions and choose the answer that best fits their bias. Others look for humor or "coolness." Perceptions about best answers will vary from person to person at any rate, no?

Happens all the time, but thats what happens here when the kiddies are point-gaming with their friends. They dont really care what is the best answer; they just want to trade points with their friends..
I wouldnt worry about it. The point-gamers cant get ALL the questions, so you end up with a fair share of Best Answers...

Because people who select them only want the points, so they don't even read all the answers - they only pick the first answer and move on. I have 148 best answers now, I think I should have around 170.

Yes, I have and I have seen others with the correct answer get a lot of thumbs down too. People will choose an answer that matches their own way of thinking.

Possibly.
Sometimes the best answer is the most concise one, but sometimes detail is needed, when people cut & paste using wikopedia they really shouldn't expect to get best answer.
Who has the best answer? It depends on the asker so it's very subjective.
