This is kind of cheesy, I once described my divided hockey fan loyalty in this fashion: I bruise midnight blue and maize (?) but I bleed red and white.

I started following the Wings when they got swept in 95 by the devils. I became obsessed, with random player facts, team history, and the game it's self. I sobbed like a baby when they won the cup in 97', I had a "Believe" patch (for Vlady and Sergei) when it meant something. I hated Claude Lemieux and the Aves more then humanly possible.

I've only been a Sabres fan for the last five or six years. I went to school in Buffalo for a few years. Even when they weren't so good they were still fun to watch. How could you not get hooked on cheering for those guys? I am definitely still on the "bandwagon" when it comes to the Sabres, but it's been a pretty good ride.

When it comes down to it, I'm a Wings fan first and foremost.

Detroit Red Wings

Growing up in Detroit during the Wing's Dominate periods in the 90s made me an automatic fan. The Wings are the winnigest US team ever in the NHL and third behind Montreal and Toronto. Also It was like watching an all-star game everygame due to our talent.

My answer is the Sens because they play exciting hockey. They pass well and can score pretty goals but they also know how to play defense but don't play the boring trap system. I was a fan before their last playoff run. I'm not a fan of the Sabres but much like the Sens they play exciting, entertaining hockey as do the Penguins to a lesser degree. A Sabres-Sens game is as good as it gets. Overall the Eastern Conference teams this past year with the exception of the Devils are more exciting to watch the than the Western Conference teams.

I grew up a Candiens fan specially simply by fact my mom became a Maple Leafs fan. For a whilst I accompanied the Cleveland Crusaders in the previous WHA and then the Cleveland Barons in the NHL. Now its the Penguins and the Sabres, yet I additionally attempt and shop an eye fixed on the gamers who're in the NHL now who used to play for the community substantial junior team.

I'm a Penguins fan. I started watching the Pens two years before Mario came and I've stuck with them through the rough years before Crosby. I'm also Pirates fan because I grew up in the Pittsburgh area and a Royals fan because my first little league team was the Royals. I'll always love those teams, because they are MY teams, win, lose or draw.

I've been a Flames fan since the '89 Stanley Cup Finals. I was in grade 6 and not into hockey, and everyone in my class but the kid who sat beside me was cheering for the Habs. He raved to me about the Flames, in particular this small, big-hearted fan-favourite named Theoren, and the rest is history. The Flames became my team, and Theoren became my hockey hero. Hey, one out of two ain't bad.

the sabres because they are my hometown team. i was also born while the sabres were playing a game. ive been watching them my whole life and always wanted to go to more games when i was little (i only went to like 1 or 2 games when i was little, which made me want to see them more). plus when i started playing hockey myself, my team mates and family compared my rough play to rob ray (i was the enforcer on my team and still am, even though i do play in the adult leage. i am only 16). then when i got a job a couple years ago i'd buy tickets to see the sabres for like 10 games a season even though we were always in the nosebleeds. i loved the atmosphere in the arena. plus it was were i took my first date and was on the kiss cam. the sabres are one of the biggest parts of my life.
