I'm 12 almost 13 and want to be a model. A lot of people have told me that you need to be tall to be a model. I'm about 5ft. Is that tall enough or does height not make a differnce.

I'm not fat either, but i'm not really skinny.

Sheesh! I wish people would stop being so sad and slating thin people! I am naturally slim and I eat tons and put nothing on! People ask me if I am anorexic, and that is just pathetic!
No,I'm a 14yr old model and I work with all sorts of people, when you are older, you have to be tall to get in the buisness, but the people I work with hire people who are both short and tall.
Go to www.starnow.com and check out the models there in your age range,if i were you, join and make an account, that is how I got into the buisness! Good luck!

Unfortunately, height does make a difference. If you want to be a catwalk model, I know its definately 5"7 and over. All other types apart from Facial Modelling Im sure are 5"5 and over, but they accept taller.
Since your only 5"0 now, I dont know if you would grow to that. But I cant really judge, you might have a growth spurt and grow 7".
However, if you want to be a child model/facial model, Im not exactly sure, but Im guessing height ranges would be different.
Good Luck!

not quite, you just have to know how to take pictures. look at Kate Moss, her height is not the average recommended model height. she is actually a lot shorter, but then again she doesnt really do runways, she does mostly photos. but that can make loads of money as well.
Fashion goes by trends, I think you should research and find out what are some qualities that companies are looking for in a model. right now 'exotic' looking women are all the rage.

first of all i understand this replaced right into a query from a while in the past yet i'm particularly offended via what human beings have reported. i'm skinny and known top i'm age 13. i do no longer bypass nutrients I eat commonly i'm wholesome and so on. some describe me as petite on the grounds that what i'm . yet guess WHAT I symbolize a real guy or woman too! in simple terms considering which you're actually not skinny would not recommend you may say we're not genuine human beings. specific I disagree with fashions being petite all the time yet you hear right here ! in simple terms with the aid of fact some persons are certainly skinny would not recommend we don't symbolize genuine human beings as we are stereotypical . no remember what shape length shade gender or race we are all human and all of us symbolize being real looking. And via ways there is plus length fashions . What i'm getting mad approximately is how fashions continually could be tall , you may get non skinny fashions yet you may no longer get short ones . What approximately those with ailments that cause them to short ! they have their desires of being a form overwhelmed with the aid of top requirement. * short lady drops mic

There are a lot of types of modeling. Most probably for now you would be to young for modeling at all. I know the public opinion about modeling is for tall, anorexic and young girls but its not true at all. Here is an article which describes modeling types and requirements for each type models.

your only 12 and as u get older you will proberly have more abitions than to just be a model! looks arnt the most important thing hun. but if you wasnt accepted as a model because of your height you could still be a face model or a hand and foot model or even a hair model so so much more to modeling than yound naive girls realise!

At the minute, all models seem to be tall but in a few years this will probably change, anyways ur only 13, you've probably got a few more years of growing left..

No, I think u need to be like at least 5'5 to be a model. Don't worry u r just 13 and u have a chance to grow up. But dont get fat though.

if you're 5ft and a size 4, I don't think you'll make it.
Maybe you could be a petite model if that's the height you stay at.. but usually for petite models you have to be ultra thin, like a size 2 at least or something..
If you're not done growing, i think you may have a chance at being like, a normal model i think you have to be at least 5'6" to even get considered though-

I think so, but it's not right that you have to be tall and skinny, like if I went to a modeling company, then I would be a plus size model, which I am not fat, I am just not real skinny. I hate modeling companies.
