Sometimes I think that I want to, but then realize that if I were famous, everything would change and life would be way more complicated than it already is. Imagine trying to go shopping with your child (in my case) and having people run after you with cameras and saying cruel things about you in magazines. I don't think that would make me lead a happier life... quite the contrary actually.

Not really. Once you're famous, the public pretty much own you and I don't think I really want that. When you're in the public eye you pretty much depend on the public to keep liking you to keep your status rising, yet at the same time you gotta resent the fact the public want to know every detail about you.
Now, depends on what kind of fame you're talking. I think I'd like to be a famous scientist or a famous author, something that nobody gives enough of a toss about but at the same time get nice monies for!

that depends on what kind of famous u're talking about. i would like to be known for being very good at what i do, but from there to super-stardom is a long way.
if i were a superstar, i would just lose my mind from the constant media attention and expectation from my fans.
but being famous does not only mean becoming a movie or music star. I would like to be famous for my intellectual abilities, for my ideas.
Stephen Hawking is pretty ******* famous and he falls a little short of a sex symbol.

Be famous is a choice, everybody free to choose it. Famous identically with rich, beauty, and other similar part. Famous makes people well known and maybe they would get many friends. Yes! Ever since I was a kid, I want to be famous for something. By the time I was 12, I've found my calling....Music!! I am now a 28 year old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who's been trying to get a record deal for YEARS!!! I want to share my music to the world, but how much longer do I have to wait?!

Ye and no. I would love the money and people being my fans but, famous people have no privacy. I mean like everybody knows about everything Brittany Spears does, and reporters are all in your personal life.

no, I wouldn't want to become egotistic like some of them are. Do you hear what some of these celebrities demand. It's disgusting to be honest. Before they became famous they were just like you and me. They should really start remembering that.
