Does anyone have experience or knowledge, of Canadians marrying down in Cuba? Also, is it easy to transfer pension payments from Canada to Cuba? What is the average wage down in Cuba? Can one live on $400 dollars Canadian a month in Cuba? Would also like to teach English as a volunteer in Cuba

Cubans are warm and friendly, I do not have to worrry about freezing here in Canada, I hate winters. As the wages are low there, I figure my pension will go a lot further then in Canada. Cubans are leaving Cuba at this time because their take home wages are small. Just to answer your remark

Remark to the Coug, the only way to find out about anyone or any place is to ask questions, Cuba has a history, some good, some bad, if we help each other, without always expecting financial gain, maybe we can make it a better place. Things do evolve, and educating oneself and one's children is the way to make things better for everyone in this sad old world. More is achieved with honey then vinegar.

Why do you want to go to Cuba????
Cubans may be nice, warm and friendly but the country is in such a terrible condition due to who runs it, Fidel Castro.
Most tourists wouldn't know how things go down there. Everytime you send money to Cuba the govt. takes a percentage of that, so if you send $350 then you would not be getting that much in Cuba.
I can see where you are coming from but it will be a lot better for you to volunteer in another country that is NOT ruled by a dictator.
Marrying a cuban person costs a lot of money, especially if you want the person to go back to Canada. If anything why would you want to marry in Cuba if not to a Cuban?

Just marry her and get her out , I am pretty sure she would love that.. . 400 canadian is like what... 350.00 usd ? is a very good amount to live by , regular cubans live with only 10 to 25 dollars a month ( being 25.00 one of the highest like my father who is a doctor there)
Good luck with the marrying thing , takes a lot of paperwork , and around 750.00 usd or so.

why do you want to move to Cuba, aren't the cubans getting out of cuba the first chance they get.
