I see you`re into the advanced field of physics Eunice .
I`ll try to explain as best I can :
It turns a screw into a board by engaging the screwdriver tip into the slot on the head of the screw . While applying pressure and turning the screwdriver in a clockwise direction , the screw will also turn , and in doing so , will move slowly into the wood .
Feel free to copy my explanation and save it for future reference , or make several copies and pass them out to family and friends .

The screwdriver is designed to engage the head of a screw and apply a torque (turning force) to it while applying a forward thrust on the screw to drive it into wood, etc. The handle has a larger diameter than the blade increasing its mechanical torque advantage and grip. The screw is a small shaft of metal with wavy lines on it that when entering the wood and rotating provides a ramp to first pry the wood out of the way then help pull the screw into the wood. (People also drink them).

To repeatedly screw and unscrew things for you. Or for prying things up. Or poking things down. Or stabbing bugs. Or poking long thin holes in something. Or for throwing at someone stupid. Or for gesturing wildly at a neighbor to keep them away..Ha Ha Ha HEEEE
