Well, practically, there is nothing faster but did you know that HUMAN THOUGHTS could travel faster than anything in the whole world??If you want to be in any part of the world, you can be there within milliseconds.!!!Isnt that great?

No complex mass structure can travel at the speed of light and still maintain its integrity. It would break apart into its basic components.

Can any thing travel faster than the velocity of light as measured on Earth? Yes,there is an entity that does travel faster than that speed.
Cosmologists have determined that the recession velocity of Galaxies in the Universe is greater than the speed of light.

When referring to the speed of an object it is the speed relative to us or someone else in the space we live in. The recession velocity of Galaxies in the Universe may be greater than the speed of light but the speed of the galaxy itself, relative to the space it is located in, is not. It is the expansion of the space itself that causes the galaxy to recede from us at such high speeds. There is no object actually moving at that speed. Some people claim that by using various quantum effects, information or speeds faster than light can be obtained but there is nothing to this at the present time. Check for "quantum tunnelling" or "quantum entanglement", you will find some very interesting stuff.

In theory, a particle with 'imaginary mass', that is, with a mass expressed as a product of the square root of -1, which is called a tachyon, would travel ONLY faster than the speed of light. In fact, the kinetic energy of a tachyon would approach zero as its speed approached infinity, and the kinetic energy would INCREASE as its speed dropped towards c!

Tachyons have never been observed, and thus remain purely theoretical. Normal massive matter is referred to as 'tardyons'. The prefix 'tachy-' means 'fast' and 'tardy-' means 'slow'.

in practical life nothing travels faster than light.

but according to modern string theory & quantum physics a hypothetical partical Tachyon travels faster than light.
it can never slow down to speed of light or slower. and the interesting fact due to its speed greater than light it continues to travel backwards in time i.e. it reaches its destination before being projected.
it ha amazed me for a long time

reffer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachyons for more on this superluminous object

By our current understanding of physics, no.
Interstellar travel, if at all possible, will likely require some type of mechanism that can fold space.
Please refer to A Wrinkle in Time or Macross for more information on folding space.

According to modern scientists nothing travels faster than light. May be there is something we don't know.
