CHA-CHING!!!!!! Let's see now, a silver ring for my sweetheart and a trip to the sea shore, a bottle of fizzy pop, a new hat, a biscuit for my doggie, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a restaurant, a T-shirt with some hard core logo stuff on it, my guitar out of the pawn shop, a pay as you go cell phone, new red satin sheets for the bed, a new light bulb for the hall, a shade for the lamp, some fancy crystal glasses for company, a dozen eggs, tea for the cupboard, HP sauce for the eggs, a brand new tooth brush, tube socks, flip flops, a spiderman wrist watch, a box of HB2 pencils, a tablet of 40lb bonded writing paper, a box of sugar cubes, a bag of Sunkist oranges, and a two hundred dollar 1987 honda civic that I've had my eye on should such good fortune as this come my way. Give it to the police. That's alot of money and it may be someone's only income for the entire month.
Here, if it's not claimed in a certain time frame, the person who found it is given it.
So, worst that happens...someone gets their money back and I can feel good about myself as a person. Best that happens, no one claims it and it becomes mine..and I have no guilt over it.

I would probably donate it to a charity or give it to the local church. It wasn't mine, and even if someone did lose it, it would be giving it back to the society, so maybe it would still help that person in some way or another.

leave it...somebody might be looking for it... i usually trace my last steps when i lose sth so it would be helpful to just leave it there... and yeah it would be nice to have a $1000 but maybe those money were intended for something else (like paying a debt or a ransom or sth) and my conscience will bug me for the rest of my life... when i do find money, i check my pocket to see if they are not mine (i lost my money once and stumbled across them....so i am cautious)

I wouldn't do either. YES, I would pick it up. BUT I would keep it for a week or two. IF NO ONE asked about it, then and only then would I keep it for good. And if someone did say they had lost it, well they had better be ready to tell me how much it was they lost., as well as what denomination.

i actually found 200.00 in a grocery store parking lot i turned it in to the service desk and they told me to keep it
