their client/s are innocent? Do you think most of them will represent their clients even if they believe it was wrong and their client/s are 100%guilty?

Criminal lawyers are there to provide their clients with the best defense possible; the client's guilt or innocence is irrelevant. I doubt that many defense lawyers lose sleep over the issue.

According to the constitution in this country everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Everyone is also entitled to representation in a court of law. I think often the defendant's attorney may know they are guilty, but try to give them the best representation that they can, which often means a plea agreement for the best sentence possible for the crime they have committed. Sometimes I do believe the attorney's know or think they know that their client is innocent and work hard to get them acquitted. Read John Grisham's book 'The Last Innocent Man'. It is quite an eye opener into our legal system. It is a true story.

Most do not believe their clients are innocent -- which is why they are very careful not to say their clients are innocent.

These attorneys will instead work to create reasonable doubt -- which is a legal tactic very different than attempting to prove the client did not do it.

And attorneys are required to represent their clients regardless of the attorney's personal beliefs or feelings on the subject -- unless the emotional conflict is so intense that the attorney cannot render professional advice.

As law student I can tell you most lawyers do not know nor do they care if their client is innocent. Few defense lawyers ONLY represent the innocent. The idea of the USA justice system is that even the guilty get a fair trial and that means someone has to defend them.

The actual principal of the defense lawyer is to make sure the police do not over step their powers.

Sure everyone wants to blame lawyers, but that's because it is a complex process, everyone hates the defense lawyers, until they need one.

Most lawyers, will never inquire of a client as to his guilt or innocence. In this way they can defend their client, no matter what they privately believe.

In these cases, the attorneys are following a different moral/legal code: the belief that everyone deserves a fair trial, no matter how guilty, and that a fair trial requires a defense that is at least as vigorous as the prosecution.

There is NO such thing as "believing" lawyer in a sense you had described. However, they WILL believe that 1 + 1 = 3 if you pay them enough.

A lot of lawyers are, if not immoral, unethical. That's why I don't care for lawyers.
