Only women would consider there was anything of interest or value in the study of themselves !!
We have baggage, issues etc all since the advent of Feminism which mysteriously seemed to lift women onto a whole different plateau to that of men (or so women think).
Can you imagine the phrase 'Me Time' being coined with men in mind?!
Actually the real answer is probably something to do with the changing society women have experienced over the past century (perhaps since WW2?)
PS. Men might be bad drivers but women are definitely illogical ones !

there is no kids day WINE WINE WINE!
then be proactive and start one!
Sence women are more complex then the basic logical male there are more stuff to learn about! because with women as i'm sure you seen 1 plus 1 don't always equal 2 but with a man it does! well most men some have other hormones they show off!
but everything else in the world is Man based so the collage you go to is not titled Men's institue it's just called school!
or what not!

In fairness though, men have had their own institute for years...the freemasons to name but one!! And lets face it mens studies would be far too simplistic in comparison to womens studies for a degree course!! Actually where is this womens studies course? I've been with my missus for years and although I know her, still dont understand her sometimes!!
You could argue some things are best left more equal than others!!
Good queston though matey!!

The Women's Institute is a voluntary organisation started by a bunch of women. Having a WI is not a legal requirement.
Any bunch of men can get together and start a Men's Institute if they want to, why don't you be the one to start it. What has it got to do with equality of the sexes?
The reason there are women's studies is for the very fact that there is inequality. If men were lesser citizens as women are, then I'm sure there would be men's studies.
As for your comment re; gender studies. Men are one the genders studied, equally with women. It is the study of the relationships and social differences between the two groups.
I hope now you realise just how inane your question is.

well, gender supposedly includes men, and I guess, according to YA women don't fit in the category of gender, therefore they feel the need to emphasize the word WOMEN.
That's the only explanation I find for " gender and women's studies"

Men are just a paycheck.
Men are just work - slaves.
Men are just soldiers to die for the women who have ALWAYS been the driving force behind society.
Why STUDY men? They aren't really what is important.

There are loads of examples of "over equality"
In the UK the police have a federation to represent all the rank and file officers, Then there is a black police federation, and also a lesbian and gay federation???? go figure that out!
There are many examples of this, why don't you set up a mens institute?

Please, please join up with your male buddies and start up a men's forum, heck maybe we can even come over and poke fun at you all and say stuff like 'Why do all men whine?' (when it's men that are whining anyway by asking such a question about us women), 'Why are all men bad drivers?' (when half the men here prolly don't even have a car, so they have to say we're bad drivers)
(ok, that's going too far, but I'm just joking(am not that mean enough of a person to continuously have a go at guys), hope no guy gets all cranky and emotional at me O_o)
