For the most part, I love Yahoo Answers however on occasion I've had some people make mean comments. One told me I was ugly, another told me I was stupid.

Even in life, I seem to concentrate on the negative comments rather then the positive comments.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/theories about this?

Because you start to doubt yourself even if you know what they said isn't true.

This proverb I heard once has help me a lot:
"Write bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble”

concentrate on the good things, the bad things written in sand will eventually fade away

Being offended is an emotional issue, and most people react to that spontaneously,a trait that guides us through life...Learning to
approach an offensive or negative comment makes us stronger in the long run, knowing that it is false representation, in your heart, is the key to blowing off what others may think of you...=)

If you dont remember positive but negative comment, that means you may be negative. So, ignore about those comments, be happy and remember that this is internet, people can write any comments and you CAN REPORT ABUSIVE. :)

I guess we just expect more from people and are disappointed when they don't treat us on the same level we treat them.
