I think the British are depressingly insular in their opinions. Most Brits haven't been farther then Spain in their miserable existence. Some people laugh that Americans don't have a passport...but they forget the USA is the same size as Europe. Most yanks are better travelled than Brits, despite not owning a passport!
I'm British, I've travelled the world; lived in appalling conditions and lived in luxury, the like of which you can only imagine (judging by the phrasing of your question) at both ends of the scale...I can honestly say that time and time again I find the majority of Brits practically medieval in their education and understanding of other cultures.

What? Do you think that as Americans, we cannot come up with articulate answers? There are many smart Americans, you can thank Ben Franklin for your electricity, Thomas Edison for you phones and I am sure you can find more Americans that helped to make everyone's lives easier through their inventions. I surely haven't come on here complaining about answers or questions given by the British, I actually welcome questions and answers from all peoples of this planet.

That's what I like about you ANZACs. Always ready for a scrap.
Can you think of anyway our men and women can come together and improve this USA-Australia rift? If you all down under bring the beer, we will bring the music and BBQ and we can meet in Maui on the surf. What do you say?

Some of my best friends on here are Americans. I quite like being on here from about 10pm to 4am. I'm a night owl. I don't mind anyone on here as long as they are ok with me.
I'm English by the way.
