Maybe all this arise out of peoples affliction with geography. Maybe there is a secret society that are planning to ship you over there.

Maybe it is a local greeting that you just haven't learned.
Are you sure it is a concern, could be a wish of the people of the people saying it.

Oh no...

I have visited the Mediterranean. Swam in it even. And I want to go back someday... I guess that means I am off my meds.

That would actually explain quite alot...
