Is it reasonable and safe to get a refurbished laptop? Who sells them? I've had good luck with other refurb products. Once I got a reject and sent it right back for full refund. I wouldn't buy one without that option.

Do yourself a favor and but an Apple laptop. A little more money, but a WAY more stable, fun and beautiful machine.

eBay is a good spot for new or slightly used Macs

I would buy a Refurb direct from a manufacturer without any worries. Though sometimes the cost difference to a new one with longer warranty and better choice of components is the way to go.

New laptops are cheaper than they've ever been so if you can afford new that's probably the best option (that way you get a warranty).
